The Clerk openedthe meeting with a period of silent worship. She read the following selection:

The cost of thegifts for Jan Luchini came to $23.43 for each of our 17 members, or whateverpeople feel they can give. Contributions may be made to Sylvia Sanford.
We approve theminutes of meetings held 9 May 2009 (with two minor changes), 17 May 2009, 5June 2009, 15 July 2009.
We approveallocating the remainder of the bequest from Arthur Evans to purchase andinstall the well tanks in the Main Building.
We approve boththe Farm Report and the HeadÕs Report for the Yearly Meeting.
We approve thedecision to request that the Yearly Meeting contribute $40,000 to the Schoolfor the coming year.
We give finalapproval to the proposed changes to the SFSC Rules and Guidelines, regardingthe Head Evaluation and the Human ResourceÕs Sub-CommitteeÕs job description.
We heard a reportfrom Lucy Hansen about the Human Resources Committee. We discussed the timingof the Head Evaluation and the signing of the note of agreement with the Head.
We approve theClerkÕs report to the IYM (C) sessions about the search committee for a newHead.
The Strategic Planhas stimulated considerable discussion. It will be the topic for our Decemberretreat. Phil Henderson (convener), George Bergus, Allan Winder (subject to hisapproval), and Glenn Singer will be the Retreat Planning Committee.
We approvechanging the Advancement Sub-Committee into two sub-committeesÑDevelopment andAdmissions/Enrollment. The recording clerk will email this change to memberswithin ten days.
The clerk shareda draft of a manual she wrote to be used for searches for a Head of School. Shebased her suggestions on The Art of Hiring Leaders: A Guide for NonprofitOrganizations, by Barbara Gilvar.

David Abazs willmake a one-hour presentation on sustainability for the October meeting. TheDecember meeting will be a retreat, probably beginning on Friday.
We commit to beactively engaged in the school in the following areas as way opens:

We thank the staff for their thorough and timely reports. Weappreciate their hard work.
Nicole Wolf-Camplin expressed appreciation for the work ofthe SFSC.
We reflected onour work over the last year, and are satisfied that we have been energized andactive. We hope we can be still more engaged in bringing our dreams for theschool to fruition.
