The School Committee met at the appointed time at Scattergood Friends School. We opened with some moments of silent worship.
Minute: We approve the minutes of the last meeting.
Minute: We heard the Consultation Committee report. Callie reported on the discussion she and Jan had regarding faculty salaries. The Committee does not at this time recommend term limits for School Committee members. The Committee recommends approval of the financial report.
We discussed the possibility of investing donations to the school in the endowment funds of the Johnson County Community Foundation and the Community Foundation of the Great River Bend. We agree that Margie Figgins will further investigate questions we have about socially responsible investments, and invite the representatives of both organizations to meet with the Consultation Committee. We ask the Consultation Committee to make a decision when they find clearness.
Minute: We approve the financial report.
Minute: We heard reports from the following sub-committees: Admissions, Academic, Community and Spiritual Life, Consultation, Facilities, Farm, Advancement, Human Resources. We appreciate the work of the faculty, and support them in their efforts.
Minute: We suggest that Jan consider budgeting for one School Committee member to attend the NAIS conference next year.
We adjourned in a timely manner with some moments of silent worship, and look forward to our next meeting on May 12, 2007.
